Introduction Letter:
On behalf of the African Canadian Disability Community Association (ACDCA), I am pleased to let you know about our organization, where we are located, and what we do.
ACDCA is a community-based organization whos purpose is:
- To identify solutions and opportunities that enable persons with disabilities to participate fully in Canadian life;
- To provide education on the role of cultural diversity in developing opportunities for persons with disabilities, particularly persons with disabilities from ethno-racial backgrounds.
- To enhance the skills of persons with disabilities through training programs such as health education, computer literacy, and job networking.
As part of ACDCA's objectives, we have started working on a project entitled: "Towards a Comprehensive Approach to Social Cohesion: Exploring the Educational, Employment, and Health Needs of People With Disabilities in Diverse Communities, Particularly Those From Ethno-Cultural Backgrounds", jointly sponsored by the Office for Disability Issues (Human Resources Development Canada), the Canadian Heritage, and ACDCA.
